We visited the Tsirku Cannery in Haines, where the owner located and set up working period canning machines from the 1920's, and believe it or not, most of these models of the canning machines are still in use all over the world today.
Each piece of equipment was demonstrated by actually running it, along with explanations of the processes of cleaning, cutting, packing, and sealing and processing the salmon. They get parts for the parts for the machines from someplace in Wisconsin.
