Part
9 ~ Yukon, British Columbia,
NW Territories & Alberta
Here are some nice things we saw there.
One thing that we did while driving across Yukon Territory was to participate in their museum program. If you go to and get your book stamped in at least eight of the 11 selected museums, you get a free poster! You keep the booklet as a
souvenir. The territory gets money in the way of entry fees and you get education!
We finished our eighth museum in Watson Lake in the southeast part of Yukon by going to the planetarium called the Northern Lights Museum to see and learn about the aurora borealis. They have a program on the northern lights, what they are, the history as far as the Indian stories and of discovering how the lights are formed. It wasn't what we expected but it was pretty good.
We obediently checked in and received our posters. I enjoyed this. We will open the poster when we get home.
